 About me

In April 2020,  during the first covid lockdown, I bought a second hand Canon body and a discounted 150-600mm lens and blundered into the world of bird photography.  This has been something to keep me sane during these strange times and give me something to focus on on those local lockdown walks.  I am indebted to Iain Taylor (hi Iain) for encouraging me and pointing me in the right direction!

Most of my photographs are taken in and around my home village of Newtonhill, 10 miles south of Aberdeen.  We are lucky to have a combination of rocky coastline, the Elsick Burn, farm and heathland around the village, giving a wide range of environments for the wildlife.
